He grew up in Naperville receiving chiropractic care from the age of 6 months when his grandfather, also a chiropractor, began treating him. Later, he began his journey into the healing arts when he was injured while working as a carpenter. His recovery was hastened by receiving shiatsu treatments between chiropractic adjustments. It was then he realized his passion for serving others through the healing arts.
Beginning in 1988 he studied shiatsu for two years with Shiatsu Master, Sensei David Champ after which he pursued his chiropractic degree at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL.
The Latin derivative of Doctor is Teacher. Believing that by empowering his patients, the way a teacher empowershis students with life giving knowledge, they'll recover more quickly from traumas, and maintain a higher quality of life after they have healed.
Dr. Christianson also believes that through healthy living: good diet, positive mental attitude, regular exercise,especially intentional breathing exercises, and a routine of complementary and alternative healing modalities, i.e. chiropractic, acupuncture, shiatsu and proper nutrition, people can reach and maintain a state of optimum health.
